Itinerary

Itinerary Start

Day 1 - Arrive Cape Town
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport, where you are met for transfer to the hotel. (Southern Sun/Table Bay)

Day 2 - Cape Town
After breakfast, you are met by your guide for a private full-day Cape Peninsula Tour. Begin by traveling along the Atlantic Seaboard past Clifton to Hout Bay and experience a cruise past the seals on Seal Island. Continue over Chapman’s Peak to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Enjoy lunch at the Black Marlin Restaurant (or similar) before visits to the penguins on Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. (B/L)

Day 3 - Cape Town
After breakfast, you are met to begin a visit to the summit of Table Mountain via cable-car (weather permitting; closed approx. two weeks in August for cable maintenance). After the visit, free time for lunch at a local restaurant (cost not included), followed by a tour of the city of Cape Town. Tour includes the Company Gardens, a drive by the Houses of Parliament, and the Bo-Kaap, a much-photographed neighborhood full of history and culture. (B)

Day 4 - Cape Town/Greater Kruger National Park
After breakfast, you are met by your guide for transfer to the airport, where you board the flight to Hoedspruit Airport, gateway to the world-famous Kruger National Park. On arrival, you are met by the the driver for transfer to the lodge. After settling in, join the other guests for lunch, followed by free time to relax during the heat of the day. Congregate in late afternoon for “high tea,” before embarking on your first open-vehicle game drive under the guidance of your experienced ranger and tracker team in search of Africa’s famous wildlife. At sunset, stop for sundowners to toast the end of another day in Africa. Then continue the safari after dark with the aid of powerful spotlights and, with luck, glimpse some of the elusive nocturnal game. Return to the lodge for dinner. Day 5 - Kruger National Park
Enjoy the full day on safari. Your twice-daily safaris take place at dawn and dusk, when the bush is at its most active and chances of spotting game are the best. Your experienced ranger and tracker team help you make the most of your time on safari through their extensive knowledge of the African savanna. The reserve is home to a wide variety of African game, including the “Big Five” - lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Safaris are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles that allow you a truly thrilling safari experience. (B/L/D)
 
Day 6 - Kruger National Park/Johannesburg/Livingstone
Awake early for a final morning safari in this unspoiled wilderness and a last chance to spot that elusive leopard! Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast before your driver meets you for transfer to the airport, where you board the flight to Livingstone, Zambia. On arrival, you are met by the local guide and transferred to your hotel. Time at leisure until you are met by your guide for a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi  River. Day 7 - Victoria Falls
After breakfast, you are met by the guide for a tour of the Falls (Zambian side). Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya," the smoke that thunders. After the tour, enjoy the rest of the day exploring at your leisure. (B)
 
Day 8 - Livingstone/Johannnesburg
After breakfast at the hotel, you are met and transferred to the airport. Fly to Johannesburg, where you are met by your local guide for a visit to the legendary Apartheid Museum. (Protea Balalaika/Sandton Sun) (B)
 
Day 9 – Depart Johannesburg
Today you are transferred to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
